With food prices rocking you might be asking yourself where is the cheapest supermarket and is it worth me shopping around for the best deal? Lets take a look...
So when looking for the cheapest supermarket, I have selected some of the staples to compare prices and see whether its worth shopping around. According to Which Aldi won the cheapest supermarket of the year 2022, so I was a little suprised at some of these comparisons.
Is Aldi always cheapest?
So first up I had a look at the price of nappies. As a Mum of 2, I am always looking at ways to lower the price of every day items like this, so I've compared the price of Aldi, Lidl, Tesco and Morrisons. Tesco Price match Aldi on their nappies, so these were the top two!
What about meat? And does quality matter?
Next up I compared the price of supermarket meat but here I was concerned not only by the price but also the quality of the product. I was really suprised to see that on this 1kg of chicken, the cheapest of all the supermarkets was Lidl, closely followed by Tesco. Although I did feel that the Morrisons look like the best quality meat.
